Metropolitan Philexinos Matthias Nayis as the Archbishop of the Diocese of Germany

BEIRUT: The Syrian Orthodox Patriarch of Antioch H H Ignatius Zakka Iwas has appointed H G Mar Philexinos Matthias Nayis as the Metropolitan for the Diocese of Germany. The enthronement of the new Diocesan Metropolitan will be performed by the Patriarch himself in the monastery of Mor Yakob in Warburg. The date is yet to be fixed.

H G Mar Philexinos Matthias Nayis has been the Patriarchal Assistant and Rector of Mar Ephrem Theological Seminary, M’araat Saydanaya. He was ordained as a Metropolitan on 7th January, 2007, in a ceremony held at the Sts. Peter and Paul's Cathedral, Ma’arrat Saidnaya, Syria.
