Countries, Ethiopian Embassies express sadness over death of EOC Patriarch

Addis Ababa, August 22,2012: Various heads of countries, Ethiopian Embassies in foreign countries have expressed their sadness over the death of His Holiness Abune Paulos. Accordingly, King of Spain Juan Carlos I and Russian Federation Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov have expressed their grief to President Girma WoldeGiyorgis and Acting Prime Minister Haile Mariam Dessalegn. Similarly, Ethiopian Embassies in Djibouti, Havana, Dublin,and Seoul, and have also expressed their sadness over the death of His Holiness, according to the Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

They commended the contribution of His Holiness to strengthen peace, tolerance and cooperation.

They reminisced the role of His Holiness to help Ethiopia establish amicable diplomatic ties with other countries.

They wish comfort to the people of Ethiopia and the EOC laity. The Norwegian Church Aid has also expressed its sorrow over the death of His Holiness Abune Paulos.
