His Holiness Karekin II Receives Delegation from the Indian Orthodox Syrian Church of the East

On 29 September, His Holiness Karekin II Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians received a delegation from the Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church of India, a Sister Church, led by His Grace H.G. Dr. Thomas Mar Athanasios, Metropolitan of the Chengannur Diocese and accompanied by Very Rev. Father Oshagan Gulgulian, Dean of the Armenian College and Philanthropic Academy in Calcutta and Pastor of the Armenians of India. 

His Holiness welcomed the visit of the delegation to the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin and expressed his appreciation for their participation in the Blessing of the Holy Muron, reflecting on its importance for the unity of Christians as a sign of brotherhood and Christian love.

His Holiness extended fraternal greetings to His Holiness Baselios Marthoma Didymos I, Catholicos of the Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church. The Catholicos of All Armenians discussed his upcoming Pontifical visit to India in November, on the occasion of the 300th anniversary of the St. Nazaret Armenian Church in Calcutta and the visit to Kerala, the Spiritual Center of the Malankara Church.

Also present for the meeting were His Eminence Archbishop Yeznik Petrosyan, General Secretary for Inter-Church Relations of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin and Very Rev. Father Hovakim Manukyan, Deputy General Secretary for Inter-Church Relations.-
